You can configure different settings for the connections with devices.
You can encrypt all connections with devices, e.g. those to the user interface or when loading parameters.
1. In
the menu bar, select Program
– Settings.
The Settings
dialog appears.
2. In the area Connections to devices, tick HTTPS (SSL/TLS).
➔ The connections with devices are encrypted with SSL/TLS.
|
Important: Encrypted connections require certificates. Make sure that the communication partners have valid certificates. |
Some features in the SEH Product Manager can be used on several devices simultaneously. For example, you can load a software update onto several devices at the same time.
For performance reasons (network load) it might be helpful to restrict the number of connections with devices that are established simultaneously.
1. In
the menu bar, select Program
– Settings.
The Settings
dialog appears.
2. In the Connection to devices area, enter the number of simultaneously allowed device connections into the Number of parallel device connections box.
➔ The setting will be saved.
If devices receive a Zeroconf IP address when they are initially set up, e.g. if DHCP is not available, these devices might not be reached because they are in a diffrent IP range than the client.
To reach the device, a route to this IP range needs to be set. You can do this manually (please read the documentation of your operating system) or automatically via the SEH Product Manager.
1. In the menu bar, select Program
– Settings.
The Settings dialog appears.
2. In the Connections to devices area, tick Suggest to set a route to the ZeroConf IP address range.
➔ The setting will be saved. If a device with a Zeroconf IP address is found during the network search, the SEH Product Manager will automatically propose to set a route.
