Installation

In order to use the SEH UTN Manager, the program must be installed on a computer with a Linux operating system.

System requirements: Ubuntu 12.04.x LTS (64-bit), Ubuntu 14.04.x LTS (64-bit), or Oracle Linux 6.5 (64-bit) all with Linux kernel 2.6.32 or higher, glibc 2.11.1 or higher, and OpenSSL 1.0.1 or higher

Different installation files are available, depending on the operating system:

·     Debian packages

·     RPM packages

Installation packages in the format '.tgz' for other Linux systems (32- and 64-bit) are available as well. Minimum requirements: Linux kernel 2.6.32 and glibc 2.11.1.
Due to the multitude of Linux varieties, a successful installation cannot be guaranteed!

For each operating system there are four packages:

1.   'driver'

2.   'service' (SEH UTN service/daemon)

3.   'clitool' (command line tool)

4.   'manager' (graphical user interface)

The number of installed packages determines between the minimal and complete version of the SEH UTN Manager:

·     package 1–3: minimal version

·     package 1–4: complete version

Install the packages in the order given above to comply with their dependencies.

The installation files of the SEH UTN Manager can be found on the SEH Computertechnik GmbH homepage: http://www.seh-technology.com/services/downloads.html.

Start

Ubuntu

To start the program, in the launcher call 'UTN Mananager' via Dash (search) or type utnmanager in the command line interface 'Terminal'.

Oracle Linux

To start the SEH UTN Manager, in the 'Applications' menu via 'System Tools' call 'UTN Manager' or type utnmanager in the command line interface 'Terminal'.

Close

1.   Select Program – Quit from the menu bar.

   The program will be closed.

If connections between the client and USB port are activated, they remain active after the program has been closed. Explanation: The 'Quit' command only closes the graphical user interface while the 'SEH UTN Service' (daemon) continues to run in the background and keeps the connections alive.
If need be, deactivate all connections between the client and USB ports before quitting the program.
