Finding and Adding Devices

After the SEH UTN Manager is started, the network will be searched for connected UTN and INU servers. The network range to be scanned is freely definable; the search can be effected via multicast and/or in definable IP ranges. The default setting is multicast search in the local network segment.

All UTN and INU servers found and their connected USB devices are displayed in the 'network list'. To use the USB devices connected to the UTN or INU server, you have to add the UTN respectively INU server to the 'selection list'. You can also directly add a UTN or INU server to the selection list. To do this, you need to know its IP address.

Defining Search Parameters

1.  In the menu bar, select ProgramOptions.
The Options dialog appears.

2.  Select the Network Scan tab.

3.  Tick IP Range Search and define one or more network ranges.

4.  Click OK.

  The settings will be saved.

Searching the Network

1.  In the menu bar, select Selection ListEdit.
The Edit Selection List dialog appears.

2.  Click Scan.

  The network is scanned. The UTN and INU servers including their USB devices found are displayed in the network list.

Adding Devices to the Selection List

 

    The UTN respectively INU server was found via the network scan and is displayed in the network list.

 

1.  In the menu bar, select Selection ListEdit.
The Edit Selection List dialog appears.

2.  Select the UTN or INU server to be used from the network list.

3.  Click Add.

4.  Repeat steps 2 to 3, if necessary.

5.  Click OK.

  The UTN and INU servers including the connected USB devices are displayed in the selection list.

Adding a Device via IP Address or Host Name

 

    You know the IP address respectively host name of the UTN or INU server.

 

1.  In the menu bar, select UTN serverAdd.
The Add server dialog appears.

2.  In the Host name or IP address box, enter the IP address or host name of the UTN or INU server.

3.  If you changed the UTN port or Encrypted UTN port, define the respective port number in the UTN-Port and Encrypted UTN Port box.
Information on the UTN and Encrypted UTN port can be found in the system-specific user manuals.

4.  Click OK.

  The UTN or INU server including the connected USB devices is displayed in the selection list.
