After the SEH UTN Manager is started, the network will be scanned for connected UTN servers. The network range to be scanned is freely definable.
All UTN servers found will be shown in the 'network list' together with the connected USB devices. The required UTN servers will be selected and added to the 'selection list'. The UTN servers listed in the selection list can then be used by the user. To use a USB device, the user establishes a connection between the client and the USB port of the UTN server to which the USB device is connected.
A USB device that was made available by the UTN server can only be used by one network participant at a time. If a user connects to a USB port and the attached USB device, other users have to wait until the connection will be closed.
Requirements:
· The USB device is connected to a UTN server.
· Client and UTN server are connected to the network.
· The SEH UTN Manager is installed on the client.
The description shows the steps that are necessary to operate a USB device that is integrated into the network by means of a UTN server.
Proceed as follows:
1. Start the SEH UTN Manager; see: Start.
2. Define search parameters for the network scan; see: Defining Search Parameters.
3. Scan the network for connected UTN servers; see: Scan.
4. Add the UTN servers that you want to use to the selection list; see: Adding a Device.
5. Activate the connection between your client and the USB port to which the USB device is connected; see: Activating the Connection.
↳ The USB device can be used by the client.
