The founders included Christian and Joachim Sturmhoefel, Peter Herden, and Rainer Ellerbrake, who still serves as Managing Director today. Our history is one of pioneering achievements: we developed the first print servers, launched the first wireless print server on the market – and set new standards in the process. For 40 years, we have been helping companies master even the largest print volumes and most complex data streams. Whether USB-to-network solutions, dongle servers, or device servers – we have continually broken new ground. In 2013, we introduced the first device server with USB 3.0 SuperSpeed, and in 2017, the first device server designed for harsh industrial environments. And today, we continue writing our success story with the dongleserver ProMAX, the utnserver Pro, and the printserver ONE, which makes printing systems usable in any network.

Special recognition goes to Rainer Ellerbrake, the only one of the four founders who is still active in the company today. His vision drives us forward: “Developing high-quality network solutions that take IT efficiency to a new level – that is our mission. Innovative thinking, a passion for challenges, and responsibility for employees, partners, and products define who we are. Made in Germany is not just a label for us, but a commitment.”

And we live up to that commitment: sustainability is not a trend for us, but a practiced principle. Fair working conditions, careful use of resources, and environmentally responsible action are a matter of course for us.

Our location in Bielefeld has been a stroke of luck to this day: this is where the heart of innovation beats, right alongside Bielefeld University and Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences (HSBI).
